The order in which we plan your smile
We begin with a consultation and examination, because healthy teeth are the prerequisite for any aesthetic treatment. With digital smile design, we decide on colour, shape and proportion together. You can see how your new smile will look before treatment begins.
The order matters: where appropriate, aligner therapy comes first, followed by air-polishing, whitening and finally veneers. This way the veneers are made to match your new tooth colour.
After a digital 3D scan, with no unpleasant impression material, our partner laboratory in Zurich makes your veneers or crowns individually. As a rule, two to three appointments are needed.
Whitening or veneers?
Whitening lightens your own teeth but changes neither their shape nor their position. For straight, undamaged teeth, whitening is often enough. Our Philips Zoom! whitening costs CHF 445 including a dental cleaning and lasts three to five years, depending on diet and habits. A certain degree of lightening is permanent.
No-prep veneers are wafer-thin ceramic shells, up to 0.3 mm thin. They correct shape, colour, small gaps and wear (abrasion), as a rule without any need to grind the teeth. With good care, veneers usually last ten to fifteen years, in most cases considerably longer.

Veneers or whitening: which is better?
Whitening lightens your own teeth but changes neither their shape nor their position. Veneers correct colour and shape at the same time. For straight, undamaged teeth, whitening is often enough.
Does fitting veneers hurt?
No. No-prep veneers usually require no anaesthetic; for the minimal grinding needed for conventional veneers, we use local anaesthesia.
Is whitening harmful to the teeth?
Not under dental supervision and with healthy teeth. Whitening bleaches the stored pigments; nothing is dissolved out and no enamel is removed. Studies show that teeth become more resistant to decay. Temporary sensitivity is the most common side effect and subsides after 6 hours at most.
How much does whitening cost?

How long does whitening last?
Three to five years, depending on diet and habits. A certain degree of lightening is permanent. A touch-up is possible at any time.
Does compulsory health insurance cover aesthetic treatments?
Compulsory health insurance does not cover purely aesthetic treatments. If veneers are medically justified, for example after an accident, in the case of enamel defects or severe wear, some private dental insurance policies contribute a share. Please clarify this with your insurer in advance.
